Good news Hip Hop heads! The new release from Genesis Elijah just landed. ‘Private Moments in Public‘ the latest full length album from adept, long time London, emcee Genesis Elijah is finally out!  Trust me people it was worth the long wait,  Even though his last full length album was in 2005 (‘Deh Pon Road’ ). Not to say hes a slouch as hes put out at least nine solo projects since 2005 (plus various features with many of UK’s finest, always holding his own. You can believe Genesis Elijah has never been one to rest on his laurels. (See link below for previous projects and releases)

Previous projects from Genesis Elijah

For those that are new to him. I would describe his bars as heartfelt, honest, reflective, introspective, pure in their very straightforward essence. . His passion for music is high and easily felt by fans looking for credible verses and skilled wordplay.  For longtime Genesis Elijah fans I would say in my estimation that as an emcee he has grown in leaps and bounds. in both lyrical maturity and life time experience. While some of his earlier offerings and style dealt often with street tales and road narratives they still always were often lined with conscious messages and morales. Always challenging his listeners to think.

Igenesis-elijah-covert seems to me his newer songs and his latest album ‘Private Moments in Public‘ are much more in tune with the everyday struggles most of us deal with daily. From the pitfalls and blessings of ambition, love and appreciation of family, to pressing on past setbacks and still seeking to improve oneself. These themes and more can be found in the sonic quality displayed aptly from Private Moments in Public This album is blessed with beautiful production throughout. The Beats are sick and blend nicely. never overshadowing the emcees spotlight. A perfect blend for ears questing for satisfying head nodders and three dimensional verses. Production credits include vetran beatsmiths Pastor Dutchie, Hirolla, Anabolic Beats, Lindow and Wicker. Also peep the sick posse cut ‘Underground King‘ featuring dope UK all stars Fallacy, Joker Starr, S. Kalibre, Rob Kelly, Reveal, Theme, Cappo, Ramson Badbonez, Iron Braydz (Produced by Pastor Dutchie) Then check out the Fathers Day Video below

In summation I would say that this is a MUST purchase to anyone searching for deepness in their hip hop. While a bit of a style change from some of his earlier work. I’d say with respect to his previous music (which I also rate highly), this is a nice change of pace for the better. An exhibition in the growth of a real emcee communicating his life and times through sincere lyrics..This is a quality album throughout. Crafted painfully to perfection Private Moments in Public’‘ is a gem for any music collection and will be genuinely felt by most lovers of conscious hip hop.
